WIP Update

Progress reports died really quick… I thought I’d be able to keep that one up through November, at the very least.

I never remember to come back and blog… Oh, well. Eventually, I’ll get the hang of it.

On to business!

The Blind World (Brimstone Series Book One) is done with first round edits. I’m typing it up again from the start so I can give it another small polishing round before sending it off to beta readers. (Not that I even have beta readers yet. If you’d like to sign up, you can access the form here.)

Nineteen-year-old Miranda Schaffer’s freshman year turns out to be more than she bargained for when her classmate, Cole, tries to convince her that her house sits on the gateway to Hell. Cole identifies himself as a Guardian, whose sole purpose in life is to prevent the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse from completing their rituals to raise Hell.

On top of that, the cute real estate agent interested in the house is, according to Cole, one of the Four Horsemen, and she should stay away from him at all costs. That’s easier said than done when she can’t get him out of her head.

Will her indecision leave her with Hell to pay?

I’m putting Missing You on hiatus. because I can’t seem to be able to put down the Brimstone series long enough to work on it. I will be reviving it the first chance I get.

I’ve started writing The Melancholy Storm (Brimstone Series Book Two) but I don’t want to get distracted by it too much while TBW still isn’t done all the way.

It’s just a small update, but I’m working really hard on this series. It’s coming along so nicely!

Until next time!

Progress Report: September

sept_2014I didn’t get much writing done this month (I’m dealing with massive moving dilemmas, among other stressful things), but I did manage to edit what I’ve got thus far for The Blind Word (Brimstone #1). Holy cow! Whenever I glanced at the document it’s all written in, it never seemed like it was coming along this nicely!

Word count to-date: 37,173

Page count to-date (8.5″x 11″): 80

Along with making meager progress on TBW, I’ve made a very loose outline for Missing You, as well as a mock cover for when it’s complete. I’ve also come to the conclusion that I like that title very much. It might not be a working title for much longer… 😉 Missing You will probably be published around mid-March 2015, though I make no promises. It’s guaranteed to be a heart-wrenching book, and the tear-jerking scenes might just kill me.

I know for certain I will self-publish Missing You, and it will come out before TBW.

“Why?” you ask? The answer is simple: since Brimstone will be a nine book series (with the potential for a few side novellas revolving around some of the main characters), I don’t want to publish the first book until I have the second book finished and the third one started. I don’t want anyone who might love the series to have to wait an obscenely long time in between book releases.

So after Missing You is written, I’ll be able to focus on the writing of Brimstone books 2 & 3 while I get it polished and ready for publication.

During October, I won’t be putting much work into these projects at all, because my family will be packing, moving, and getting settled in at our new apartment. For that reason, I won’t post a progress report for October. I will, however, be participating in NaNoWriMo, so there will be weekly progress reports in November to make up for it. 🙂

Until then,
